Have you been using wax and twisting them with rubber bands at the ends and roots?
(I only ask because I used to help a friend of mine twist his hair every two weeks, he always had some kickin' dreads in high school and college)
Wax is the biggest mistake anyone can ever make with dreadlocks....and twisting(twist rip method) or backcomb method just dosnt feel natural enough for me...so id rather wait...plus i enjoy the journy my hair has taken these past 9 months....rubber bands are useless too....
